Many gamers are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with having to pay several hundred dollars to purchase a console such as an Xbox 360 or PS3 and then hundreds more to get all of the accessories that one needs. On top of that, games now cost between $50.00 and $70.00 for a new title. Gamers can sidestep much of these costs by using a video game rental service such as Gamefly. Here’s our Gamefly Review:

If you’re not familiar with Gamefly, it’s a service along the same lines at Netflix, which targets the video game crowd. The service typically costs $8.95 per month, or you can get a free trial with this link. After creating your account, you simply choose the games that you’d like to play and add them to your queue. Gamefly will send the games that you’ve added to you overnight. After you receive them in the mail you can play as long as you want without having to worry about a late fee. After you’re done with the game, simply send the games back to the Gamefly with the envelope that they provide and they’ll send you the next games on your list.  Gamefly currently has more than 7,000 titles available across a number of different platforms, including the Play Station 3, Xbox 360, Play Station Portable, Play Station 2, Wii, GameCube, DS and GameBoy advance.

Nobody wants to fork over hard earned cash without knowing how well the service will work, fortunately, More often than not, users can get a 10 day free trial by finding an appropriate link, but that’s about all you can get out of the service, which is more than enough to receive a game in the mail and decide whether or not you like the service. When doing the free trial, there’s no obligation to continue. As long as you cancel before your free trial is up, you’ll never be billed a dime.

Another way to get free play time on Gamefly is to give the company your unwanted used games. The service also allows customers to send in their used games for credit toward membership fees on the site. So, if you have old games laying around that you no longer play, you can send them to Gamefly and receive up to several months of free service.
